DIY Water Feature

DIY Water Feature
DIY water feature for small spaces. Follow my guide to make a space-saving water feature that enhances your outdoor area.

What you will need

  • Engineering bricks or large stones
  • Pebbles or stones of your choice I used white cobbles from B&M)
  • A water tight bucket (I got mine from Hudsons plant centre)
  • Solar powered fountain (I got mine from Hudsons but amazon sell similar here) Note: If you are intending to have fish you will need a filter as per the one I have if not you will not need a filter and there are cheaper alternatives.
  • Pond Plants
  • Water
  • Fish (if you are adding fish)

How to make: Your DIY Water Feature

  1. WASH YOUR PEBBLES OR STONES – I made the mistake of lightly rinsing these but the water went cloudy so make sure you thoroughly wash your pebbles or stones before adding the water
  2. Position your bucket where you would like it
  3. Arrange your engineering bricks or large stones (I used engineering bricks so the fish can hide in the holes and the filter can be lodged through one of the holes)
  4. Set up your filter into a position of your choice (note: make sure the water stays inside the bucket)
  5. add your WASHED pebbles/stones
  6. Add your plants
  7. Fill with water (if you are adding fish you will need to wait for around a week or use de-chlorinator then wait a day or 2
  8. Add fish (if you are)
