My best friend and I visited Art St Kitchen at the DoubleTree Hilton in Westminster to review.
We were welcomed upon arrival and given a choice of seating. The restaurant had a cosy but clean, modern feel. The menu is inspired by dishes around the globe and are all small plates so it’s recommended that you order a few per person (although I think we ordered one or two dishes over!). The service was friendly and quite laid back which added to the relaxing atmosphere.
We were seated and ordered some mixed olives and quite a few different dishes including:
- Halloumi Chips with salsa which were perfectly cooked and the salsa was cool and refreshing, complementing the salty cheese well.(these were my favourite part of the meal)
- Flamed Mackerel which was very flavoursome
- Fried squid with lemon aioli, tender with a pleasant crispiness of the flour
- Pan Fried Hake with Paprika Hollandaise
- Lamb Kofte with tzatziki, chickpeas and tomato
- Flat Iron Steak which was tasty but did not come with Mushrooms & Salsa Verde as advertised, instead it came with baby leaf spinach and fries
- Ale-battered Cod Sliders, (Fish Fingers in buns)
- Buffalo Mozerella with Sun-dried TomatoesPerfectly seasoned Fries
- Smoked Aubergine Mezze with Flatbread
The food was mostly full of flavour, presented really well and we thoroughly enjoyed it even if we did order a bit too much we still finished almost all of it!
My only bit of constructive feedback would be the flatbread and rolls with the cod sliders were a bit hard and it took longer than we expected to be served and for the food to arrive, however this would not put me off coming back as I’m a massive fan of lots of small dishes and loved the variety! Also I would like to mention the service we received from Flavio was very impressive.
For dessert I ordered a Choux pastry filled with hazelnut praline and which was sweet and delicious.
We were content and full at the end of our meal and I would recommend visiting Art St Kitchen for the variety of different European dishes they offer. Thank you for having us! Let me know if you have been and what you thought! ☺️
